https://reason.com/2023/01/14/a-modern-history-of-groomer-politics/ Histories like this remind me of a self-coined aphorism. "Youth liberation" of the 1970s liberated "youth" as a symbolic totem and not actual young people. The retrenchments of the 1980s onward - higher drinking ages, smoking ages, higher ages of consent, curfew laws, etc. were all reminders that society was not willing to take young people seriously as people or to provide the material and sociocultural necessities of realizing anything approaching the sustainable realization of social equality. Little wonder that the likes of Reddit and Tumblr are preoccupied with the sexual "consent" of fictional adolescents in manga as some sort of exercise in progressive politics. The agency of young people - even their theoretical agency not respected as previously demonized groups gained theirs - has been so dismantled that it cannot even be imagined, let alone realized.

The giveaway will effectively help to encourage potential Trump voters to engage in the campaign during the tense final weeks of the presidential race ahead of the vote on 5 November. >https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cg78ljxn8g7o
*4 space station fliers return to Earth after record-setting 235-day mission* The crew originally expected to return to Earth in September. But the flight slipped into early October in the wake of a decision to delay the launch of their Crew 9 replacements because of problems with Boeing's Starliner crew ferry ship. NASA eventually ruled out bringing Starliner commander Barry "Butch" Wilmore and co-pilot Sunita Williams back to Earth aboard the Boeing spacecraft. Instead, the Starliner came down without its crew on September 7 and Crew 9 was launched with just two passengers -- Nick Hague and cosmonaut Alexander Gobrunov -- on Sept. 28. That freed up two seats aboard the Crew Dragon for Wilmore and Williams to use when they come home next February with Hague and Gorbunov. >https://www.cbsnews.com/news/four-space-station-fliers-return-to-earth-after-record-setting-235-day-mission/
Hey everyone, Wanted to share some interesting data I've been tracking over the last couple of days regarding a new player in the launchpad space: Haste.com. First, the infrastructure backing: The platform's team/owner bought the domain for a staggering $2,000,000. In terms of skin in the game, that’s a massive statement of intent before even factoring in development costs. The Platform: Haste is positioning itself as a highly secure, fair-launch ecosystem aimed at eliminating the typical vulnerabilities and bot-manipulations seen on older launchpads. The Token ($STEVE): The standout token on the platform right now is $STEVE. It’s experiencing rapid organic growth and catching a lot of volume. Because it's native to a heavily secured, high-capital launchpad, it’s avoiding a lot of the early-stage dump pressure we usually see with new micro-caps. If the launchpad gains the mainstream traction it's aiming for, $STEVE is positioned to be a major beneficiary as one of the pioneer assets on the site. Definitely worth putting on your watchlist. Has anyone interacted with the Haste UI yet? How was the user experience?
