I have some news regarding NSFW content on heahy.com. Currently, Heahy lacks key moderation features, so starting now, all NSFW uploads by non-owners to any channel will be put on hold. This is a temporary measure, and it may change once I implement NSFW content marking, reporting functionality, and finish the mobile apps. I'm starting work on all of these right now. The main reason for this decision is that I can't - and don't want to - manually review every new NSFW upload. Most channels are already abandoned, so there's no first-line moderation at all. The #porn channel is probably the only one still active, but even it will be temporarily paused for new uploads. Once moderation features are in place, this restriction might be relaxed. However, I can't guarantee anything yet. NSFW content also consumes a significant amount of disk space and bandwidth. On top of that, I need to develop and get mobile apps approved in app stores, which could be a roadblock for allowing NSFW content. I'm sorry this had to be done, but hopefully it will be reversed soon once we have better infrastructure for handling NSFW content.

*A new version of heahy.com is live!* No major new features this time, but we’ve fixed a lot of bugs and made several small UI improvements. The biggest changes happened behind the scenes: we completed a major backend refactoring. Because it was such a large update, we experienced some instability in the days following deployment—but things now seem more or less stable. These backend improvements lay the foundation for significantly better performance and scalability. With this in place, we’re planning to start promoting the site more seriously. We’ve also made preparatory progress on the Android app - the initial developer version is already working quite well! *What’s next?* All development effort is now focused on building the minimal moderation features required for the mobile app to meet app store guidelines. Channels will soon support policy tags - clear labels set by owners and enforced by moderators—that define content and speech rules. For example, an NSFW channel will carry an NSFW policy tag, and similar tags will indicate speech moderation levels (e.g., “free discussion,” “civility-enforced,” etc.). These tags help set expectations for everyone: owners, moderators, and participants alike. Once this moderation system is ready, we’ll begin testing the Android app - undoubtedly one of the most important missing pieces right now.

To address the heart of the term "MAP", what is a "minor" anyway? By some social definitions, a 24-year-old is a "minor" by virtue of not being able to rent a car. Is this particular age group off the table for dating by the car rental-enabled community thanks to their industry-imposed contractual handicap and the oft-mentioned "power imbalance" this imposes? By other social definitions, a 16-year-old is not a "minor" because they can work a wage-earning tax-paying job and apply for emancipation. Is it then "wrong" to be attracted to one if they suddenly quit their stint at Circle K? But this quibbling over the inconsistencies in the cultural cachet of "minor" is beside the point - how is someone's attraction to someone else dependent on a legal status? "Oh man, I'm really hot for a guy because he's legally forbidden from drinking alcohol." Seriously? That's just as plausible as hearing, "Whassup, hot stuff, that IR5 visa is making you extra spicy today!" Being attracted to someone because of a legal status concocted by some politicians long ago sounds like an offbeat fetish for autistic nerds. Do we have other terms for attraction to other people with special legal statuses? Probation Attracted Persons, or PAPs? Subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice Attracted Persons, or UCMJAPs? As for me, I am not any kind of chronophile. A woman can be 16, 36, 66, whatever, and if she's attractive in body, personality, intelligence, and temperament, I don't care how old she is. A spirited rejection of current society's intellectually lazy and harmful fixation on age and its relationship to romantic relationships is what started this very subreddit! As "minor" is a laughably inconsistent legal fiction concocted for the sake of administrative convenience, and especially a fiction the way "minor" is often used on the internet, so too are "minor attracted persons" fictional. One would do well to reject yet another ill-advised identity marker that reifies a legal status category and cultural catch-all that is riddled with injustice.
